Hewlett-Packard
Company named Dr Srinivasan Ramani as director of HP Labs
India. Dr Ramani will be responsible for leading the growth
of a new research unit focused on innovation for emerging
economies, developing and managing the lab’s research
agendas and promoting HP Labs India as a world-class and
world-renowned research organisation. Headquartered in
Bangalore, HP Labs India’s mission will be to generate
innovations targeted at the world’s emerging economies
by understanding relevant social, cultural, economic and
technological drivers. Ramani comes to HP from Silverline
Technologies Ltd., where he served as director of research
and development. He will continue to serve as a member
of its advisory board. 
Citrix
Software Private Limited, India announced the appointment
Souma S Das as Managing Director for its India operations.
Das, responsible for developing Citrix’s strategy
for India, will oversee an autonomous organisation of
a complete range of sales, marketing and pre/post sales
functions. He will be reporting directly to Nabeel Youakim,
managing director Citrix Systems Asia Pacific. “Souma,
with his wide experience in the Indian IT Industry, has
a very good understanding of the market and possesses
a rare combination of technology and management skills,
which will help him lead Citrix as we grow in India,”
said Nabeel Youakim. Souma S Das was previously Country
Manager, Lotus Development International Corporation,
India.
