The
team of Kabir Agarwal and Anupam Sonalkar were the proud winners
of the recently organised TCS Ace Wiz Quiz.
Kabir
Agarwal of Mahindra VWC of India and Anupam Sonalkar of BMCC College
(Pune), beat the other five teams by a margin of 55 points, in a
well-contested finish. The quiz was organised as a part of Tata
Consultancy Services Youth Development Initiatives. Quiz Master
PickBrain Giri Balasubramanium hosted the programme.
The chief guest for the evening, Mala Ramadorai, gave away the prizes.
The Ace Wiz Quiz was organised as a part of the All India Tennis
Association/ Maharashtra State Ranking Juniors Open Tennis Tournament
2002. The elimination round involved the filling of a quiz questionnaire
by every participant (in teams of two) of the tennis tournament.
Based on the answers of the participants, 12 finalists (six teams)
were short-listed, out of a total of around 200 teams which participated.
Speaking
on the occasion, Mala Ramadorai said, It is indeed a pleasure
to be among so many well rounded young personalities who are doing
so well for themselves at such a young age. It is indeed credible
that the children present here have kept themselves abreast of the
happenings around them while pursuing sports and performing in their
academics. I appreciate the organisers initiative in hosting this
wonderful event and wish every youngster the very best in all future
endeavours.
Commenting
on their success, Kabir Agarwal said, We are very excited
about the victory. In fact that we had started preparing for this
quiz from day one of the tournament in the belief that we will qualify
for the finals. We thought of doing well but little did we expect
that we will emerge as the winners, added Anupam Sonalkar.
