Computer
Sciences Corporation (CSC) recently announced that its India operations
is now 1,000 professionals strong. CSC in India currently operates
out of its state-of-the-art development centres in Noida and Indore,
both of which are CMM Level 5 assessed. It also announced the plans
of increasing its headcount to 1,600 people by the end of the current
financial year.
In
addition, the company would also be opening a new facility, also
in Noida, that takes the total number of CSC centres in the country
to threeone in Indore and two in Noida. Forecasting an accelerated
pace of operations, the company is looking at setting up two more
centres in India, with one in Noida and the other one in South India,
by the end of the current financial year.
CSC
in India has been an innovator and was one of the first IT companies
to focus on domain expertise and exclusive remote development, forgoing
the body shopping mode prevalent in the late nineties. We have grown
at a rate of over 70 percent in the last two years and are delighted
to reach the 1,000-employee milestone. This hyper-growth will continue
for the next two years as we are targeting a 100 percent growth
this year and hope to maintain the momentum in the next year also,
said Dr Arun Maheshwari, president, managing director and CEO of
CSC in India.
