ITP News Network / Mumbai

Intelenet Global Services has recently won the Sportzvillage Crickfest 2004 trophy, a corporate cricket tournament in Mumbai. After a series of league and knock-out matches, the two teams that made it to the final of Crickfest 2004 were Intelenet Global and Atos Origin.

Intelenet reached the final by defeating defending champs Reliance Infocomm in the qualifying match. Susir Kumar, CEO of Intelenet said, “It gives me great satisfaction to provide our employees with opportunities to participate and win in such exciting competitive events. This shows Intelenet’s commitment to all round development of our people.”

All matches were of seven overs. Intelenet by the end of the fifth over required just 12 runs from 18 balls and had all their wickets intact. A massive six off a no-ball followed by a boundary drove the victory for Intelenet who registered a convincing win over Atos Origin. Reliance Infocomm was the second runner-up.

Sean Pereira, head of operations at Intelenet added, “At Intelenet we encourage many activities, cricket is one of them. Winning is a habit and this tournament is one of them in a long string of successes. Such events add value to the work profile and also encourage true sportsmanship. We thus balance the equation and hold true our belief of ‘Work Hard, Play Hard’.”

Director SportzVillage, Jitendra Joshi said that corporate indoor games and a soccer fest will be organised in the coming monsoons.
